First successful “outing”
We were out for maybe 10 minutes? I’m not sure what they thought, but they didn’t seem to hate it 😉
It’s about 70F outside, which is only a couple of degrees cooler than we keep the house, so it seemed opportune.
They were caged and supervised the entire time.
Do not...
Kinda what I'd like to avoid ;)
My birds are out with me during the day while I work, and Linnies are famously quiet birds.
I'd like to be able to take a call without someone asking, "Is someone whistling 'September'"?
So I gave the kabab swing a go and it looks like they may actually not hate it? It's on a table-top playset, so there's plenty of room for them to maneuver.
So, hands can be a thing for Linnies. Even the sweetest, tamest most easy-going Linnie may hate hands.
I would stop putting your hands in his cage when possible. Obviously you have to change water/food/etc., but I wouldn't reach into the cage to offer him your hand at all.

Now that Kingston and Hemingway are living under the same "roof", I'm going to start a new thread for both of them.
Here are some inaugural pictures and videos :)

I believe that it’s safe to pull them as early as two weeks, provided you have the right equipment and knowledge (brooder, feeding patterns, etc.)
The green one is an absolute gem.
Do any of your Linnies use swings?
I have one for Hemi in his cage, but he's not terribly enthusiastic.
I have another on one of his play-stands...but when he tries it, he falls forward and face-plants.
I'm guessing that since they are "horizontal" birds, it isn't their favorite from a balance...
I'm sure that there are some of you out there that have both species as pets :)
How does that generally go?
Not housing them together obviously, but their interactions with each other. They seem to be pretty mellow species that "on paper" would get along nicely?
Just as a follow-up here, Hemi is quite the talker!
He has a lot of common phrases like: "Hi", "Good Morning", "What you doing?", "Boop", "Good Boy" and "Step Up".
Beyond that he whistles, constantly. It's his favorite form of communication.= ;)
