  1. srirachaseahawk

    Baby Hemingway

Right now he is on three feedings a day with fresh veg given every other day or so, and free access to pellets. I routinely see him sitting in the pellet bowl chowing down. I'll mention the water idea to the breeder and see what she thinks.

    Baby Hemingway

I see him flapping right now as I type this on the webcam that the breeder has setup in the brooder :) Plan is to bring him home in 3-4 weeks after he's been fully weaned! Him chasing the friendly neighborhood Splendid (who has since been moved out to a cage to prep for going home)

It’s a boy :) Genetics on parents show that all greywings will be boys (like his mama).

    Vocalizations?

    Love it!

    Vocalizations?

Seems to be the consensus :) I assume that it’s the same with disposition, generally speaking? With Linnies it just seems like it’s more an individual bird thing as opposed to a gender bias too much with temperament. Gender may honestly come down to availability from my breeder, but it’s good...

    Second Linnie

This is very useful :) I would definitely want to give the second one ample time to bond with me before they bond to each other. They would both be hand-raised, so hopefully that helps to cut down on the shyness factor; but I may keep the second one housed until s/he is a year old or so? It's...

    Second Linnie

It does! She absolutely sends them out for DNA unless the wee one has an obvious sex-linked trait.

    Vocalizations?

I should clarify :) I've heard the way that Linnies speak on Youtube, and I'm all about just the few words here and there. I'm not expecting anything on the level of African Grey's, Budgies or Ringnecks. I adore their regular mutterings, but I was just curious if there was any real gender...
